Chris Daly
Chris Daly is without question the greatest writer named Chris Daly ever to grace the pages of Passion of the Weiss. He was one of the first music bloggers ever to address Nigerian speed rap, an accolade which doesn't get him laid, even in Nigeria. Over the years, he has written for such varied outlets as this one, Odd Bloggings, Les Enfants Terribles, Rollo & Grady, Big Yawn, Jedi News and a really bitching piece on bed bugs for Hotel Management. Daly claims to be the only PotW writer to have seen Tupac as a back-up dancer for Digital Underground, Heavy D. (when both he and all the Boyz still were alive and kicking), Slick Rick (before he went to jail) and the original 3 Feet High and Rising Tour. When not perfecting his beat boxing skills, he enjoys cosplaying his two kids in 80s B-Boy and B-Girl finery. Daly really hopes this blogging thing eventually pays off, as he is not looking forward to the chiropractic bills sure to arise from all the dookie chains he keeps heaping on his offspring.

Chris Daly is a New Jack Hustler Though most cats only only recognize James “Jimmy” Scott Tamborello as being one half of the Postal Service, most cats can be pretty ignorant. For those of us in the know, he more accurately should be described as a brilliant and accomplished electronic artist who has been operating […]
Chris Daly lives like he’s Drop Dead Fred Sure, the summer of 2014 “officially” is over and done with, but unless you’re a student, who gives a shit about arbitrary calendar dates anyway? September 2nd was the hottest day in the D.C. metro area this year, or at least it was for the purposes of […]
Chris Daly asks permission to come aboard, sir You don’t have to enjoy the mind expanding properties of shrubbery to enjoy the music of Flying Lotus or his rapping alter ego, Captain Murphy, but as this clip from Adult Swim proves, it certainly doesn’t hurt. Before the animated short even really begins, we see two […]
Chris Daly is the father of Dragons Peter Rosenberg knows a thing or two about hip hop, but you either already knew this or you’re reading the wrong blog. The NY Hot 97 DJ is getting ready to drop a mixtape, Winter Is Coming. For accuracy’s sake, let’s hope it gets here no later than […]
Chris Daly is really into Trap Step Wave Core Since it does come around once per year, Living Legends’ very own Luckiam likes to celebrate the occasion by dropping a free joint for the fans. This year’s gift from the Cali birthday boy enlists the talents of the equally lofty Myka 9 and Open Mike […]
Chris Daly used to hide new VHS releases behind workout videos It’s not often a song snippet is going to get mentioned here, but it’s not all that often that Run The Jewels drops a single teaser via Twitter, either. Out of seemingly no where, El-P tweeted that the next album, creatively named RTJ2, “is […]
Chris Daly’s crime alias is Eel O’Brian Quick history review–before the current rise of EDM, electronic music, in its various forms, tended to lurk around the fringes and not on the radio. The parties were better, but that’s probably nostalgia talking as much as anything else. Partially remembered memories aside, in the early ’90s, Richie […]
Chris Daly already holla’d at the female Thor You probably thought you knew Paul White from his earlier work as a hip-hop producer working with such cats as Danny Brown (who calls White his “favorite producer to work with”), Guilty Simpson and Homeboy Sandman, amongst others. A beat producer with an uncanny ear for combining […]

Chris Daly’s favorite surf/hockey/rollerblading movie is “Airborne” Sure, Flume & Chet Faker’s Lockjaw EP dropped late last year. And yes, the original video for “Drop the Game” is a thing of beauty in itself, featuring the masterful lock and pop action of Storyboard P. But that doesn’t mean the story has to end there. Obviously […]
Chris Daly keeps Amelie on repeat like Scarface in his mansion What could pass as the intro to one of the nerdiest, hipster jokes of all times actually happens to be a lighthearted, French bubblegum pop affair between the aforementioned hip-hop producer, Daniel M. Nakamura, and the actress, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The two met during […]
