Hype gets tedious, but somehow, Nicolas Jaar just doesn’t miss. If he isn’t better than Burial, he’s the closest one. This almost sounds like early Prefuse 73 or Boards of Canada, but turned into an up-tempo house track, then becomes a Four Tet flight ran through metallic alien space-ship experiments. It gets quiet, it dissolves, re-forms, goes industrial, features a chirping “fight” on loop, and then becomes one of the best dance tracks of the year in the final two minutes.
