When you hear the phrase “keeping it gangsta’,” what immediately comes to mind? If your answer consists of eight letters — F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S — then this track just might not be your cup of tea. But the small but vocal minority of Agallah enthusiasts will rejoice in hearing “Gangsta 2K15,” a slick reprise of the undated “Gangsta,” which eventually found a home on Agallah’s Dipset-endorsed Doomsday mixtape from 2004. Hus Kingpin, a skilled yet derivative Roc Marciano protégé, is the proprietor here in name only. It’s Agallah’s debonair production and masterfully repurposed hook that make “Gangsta 2K15” the rare sequel that does justice to the original.
