If you haven’t read The Big Payback, the short version is that Nick and Eric Vidal were two brothers from Bakersfield who moved to LA and quickly became the face and playlist selectors for Power 106 in the early 90s. They’re among the most influential DJs in hip-hop radio history and also had a production career that included Volume 10’s “Pistol Grip Pump” and tracks for Yo-Yo and The Whooliganz. In this clip, they talk about their DJ roots, their early days at Power 106, and their thoughts on the music scene in Atlanta.
