Killer Kill from the Ville got his mic silenced before he could burn down the whole world at Coachella. This was one of those national moments of shame that we’ll be forced to mourn until the return of the blood moon. Still, there is a second week to see it happen and there is this new boon to our lives called “Boonies.” Produced by Alan the Chemist, Mike does what Mikes does: fricassee racists, numb skulls, and cracker judges. There is even a tacit tribute to Ice-T’s “Colors.” Al’s beat melts down and re-forms even tougher, maybe to galvanize itself against the obnoxious drops from Drama.
Never mind the noise, it’s Mike and Alchemist, who deliver something fit to soundtrack psilocybin robbing sprees. Afterwards, they return and watch cartoons in the lab. It’s taken from the Boondocks Season 4 mixtape, released by Adult Swim. The tape leans heavy on the young weird underground Atlanta. Two-9, Wara, and Earth Gang. There’s also Michael Christmas, who is the best rapper from Boston that I’ve heard in a minute. Compton’s Problem and the most welcome random track, Troy Ave teaming up with DJ U-Neek, formerly the producer for Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. U still has the sinister angel dusted beats. Troy has the white powder. The resulting solution seem natural. The tape itself is best heard with the right herbal additives and proper animation.
