Posting this old picture of baby-faced Gates with the dreads because it’s almost the weekend. In case you’re not doing the math on Baton Rouge’s finest rappers, Boosie is allegedly coming home next Wednesday, while Gates is still incarcerated due to a probation violation for traveling. Judges in the boot aren’t known to understand the intrinsics of the rap life — or maybe they do and they want to do everything to stop it. Word is that Gates will be home sometime in March, which can’t come soon enough, as the market for murda muzik to quietly sob to is getting attenuated.
In the meantime, there is “For Sale,” featuring Gates on a track from Tana. Zaytoven handles the beat. Predictably, Gates steals the show talking about how he owns Dan Marino’s mansion and pronouncing police “Po-Lice,” like they are insects. The whole song could stand to be his, but we’ll make due.
