In which it is revealed that Nosaj Thing made the second half of the beat for “Pusha Man” from Acid Rap. This is probably my favorite moment on the album and I had previously assumed it was composed by Curtis Mayfield’s ghost. Wrong again. My review drops tomorrow on Pitchfork if you are interested.
If you are not interested, this video from Yours Truly can handle the weight. Between Nosaj Thing and Flying Lotus producing for Mac Miller, Ab-Soul, and inevitably others I don’t know about, the Low End Theory takeoever of rap is in full swing. This is mild exaggeration, but Nosaj has worked with Kendrick and had beats lifted by Trinidad James and Kid Cudi. When he gets his La Musica By Nosaj Thing drop, we’ll know it’s really real.
