Son Raw still wants Royal’s Dizzee Rascal refix.
It’s never a bad time for a reminder that Royal-T’s debut album for Rinse.FM is one of the best listens of the year. Any record that combines high-energy rhymes, Burial tributes and over the top rave anthems will hold a special place in my heart but all Grime-fandom aside, it’s the kind of record that even novices to the genre can instantly latch onto. Hell, even Jeff co-signed it as a UK album to watch and that’s the kind of distinction he usually reserves for Hot Chip or Four Tet. This latest visual featuring Family Tree member Merky Ace doesn’t inolve much of a concept but then again, who needs art direction when you’ve got a fish-eye lens and shots of a microphone and DJ mixer?
