Since I first wrote about RL Grime last year, the New York producer has blown up. How much? He wrangled R.L. Stine to do the drops on his Halloween mix. Then again, even if his remix of “Mercy” (alongside Salva) didn’t rack up half a million listens and probably become the most played trap song of the summer, I imagine Stine would’ve come through for his alter-ego. He seems like a pretty chilling bro on Twitter.

A lot of people are wary about electronic trap music for good reason. The failure to even coin a new name leaves a lot of bad assumptions of cultural appropriation. But Grime splits the difference between early Swizz Beatz, Lex Luger, the instrumental grime of Royal T, and purple-era Joker. I believe in Italian, that is known as unfuckwithable (Silvio Burlosconi is my Italian tutor. Don’t trust me). The tracklist and mix is below the jump. Kendrick. Raider Klan. New Grime. TNGHT. Triple Six Mafia. Play it loud and serve alongside weed, Robo, and Reese’s Pieces.
