Freddie Gibbs, the last of the Mohicans, drops Baby Face Killa today. I will refrain from a full fledged review because Deen is on it and it may be the last thing he reviews this year. Thus, is the power of Gangsta Gibbs to steer him away from whatever else drops. How good is this tape? The collaboration with Z-Ro is Deen’s least favorite moment. It’s my favorite. Or maybe the song with Krayzie Bone and Space Ghost Purp. Or the song with Kirko Bangz. As you may gather from these references, this is Gibbs most musically diverse tape, but he’s gotten there gradually. This is both evolution and some cold-blooded gangsta rap. The illegal prescription that the doctor ordered.
