One of the first times in which Gibbs pays any mind to contemporary rap trends, while sounding at home over a minimal menacing West Coast riff a la DJ Mustard. As Gotty pointed out, with a clean edit, this could conceivably be a radio hit. Of course, that would require payment to “radio promoters” and a litany of other complications. Really, this song just needs Nate Dogg, whose mastery of gleeful misogyny could make Tucker Max seem like Tucker Carlson.

I will never fully understand the rap philosophy described by Kurupt as passing it to “the homie, then you hit it.” In some circumstances, sharing is not caring. But I do appreciate the subtle reference in this song to AMG’s “Bitch Betta Have My Money.” Though I interpret that song as less ode to prostitution, more what happens when you loan a girlfriend money to buy furniture and she never pays you back. Ask Liz Lemon: Ikea is the new trap.
