As mentioned in this morning post, I’m in promo mode these days – kissing hands, shaking babies and generally spreading the word about my various endeavors to the offline massive – you know, in da streets never industry. It’s been a rousing success so far, something I attribute to my propensity to talk shit when I’m drunk only to realize the need to follow-up on it the next day. That said, there’s something to be said about a robust online presence so here’s the skinny on December’s huge Son Raw related news.
See that swag looking flyer up there? That’s Who da Coldest NYE, the single dopest New Year’s party in the Montreal area, proudly presented by my very own PROJECT crew. The story goes something like this: a bunch of us had an amazing time last Halloween at an ESL rave only to learn that the usually dependable crew was taking a much needed break this Holiday season, leaving a severe gap in the market for a non Brostep, non Psytrance rave. Faced with the terrifying prospect of not having anywhere to party the opening hours of 2012, we took matters into our own hands and are throwing a jam of epic proportions. How epic? Well, we’re bringing in Ghettophiles‘ Starfoxxx straight from Chicago to deliver some original Footwork vibes! Bar a brief set by Rashad last March, this will be the first time an actual Juke DJ rocks out here and it promises to be that raw & uncut shit all delivered at 160BPM. We’re also bringing in Toronto’s Rei Von for a mix of Baltimore club, Footwork, Ghetto House and more and of course, yours truly will be rocking the decks from what promises to be an absolutely MAD set. All of this with a primo soundystem, insane warehouse location, good vibes and cheap price: 15$ in advance, more at the door. If you’re anywhere near the Montreal area – you should definitely check it out, rumor has it a few Passion of the Weiss luminaries will be stopping by so now’s the time to meet the crew.
