Sach O doesn’t need to tell you how he feels about this CD so instead of a standard review, he’s highlighting a few unreleased and forthcoming tracks from this mix.

Royal-T – Orangeade V.I.P
An epic opening number with a Trance-sized build-up, this remix of 2011’s first single from Elijah & Skilliam’s Butterz label feels custom made for the CD even though it saw an extremely limited vinyl-only release a few months ago. Squelchy synths and the sound of pouring cola.

Swindle – Pineapple
Probably my favorite track on the CD, this Swindle tune brings me back to the days of Ridge Racer and other late 90s Arcade games soundtracked by weird, futuristic Japanese techno-funk scores. It’s a bit on the hard side for those averse to UK bass lines but for anyone wishing Dam Funk would consider influences post-89 – this is a must-hear. Bonus points for having the hardest snares in the game.

P-Jam – Arizona Skyz
Opening with jazzy chords before exploding into a furious drum & Bass riddim, this is probably the hardest straight-up banger on the CD. Forthcoming on Terror Danjah’s Harddrive records.

Terror Danjah & Royal-T – Music Box
Two of the purest musicians working in Grime right now, Terror Danjah and Royal-T may not have had a lot of emcees jumping on their tracks this year but with so many variations in their production, I doubt anyone noticed. This one splits the difference between their approaches, combining chipmunk soul to roughneck low end and the titular tiny-chimes.

Swindle & Silkie – Unlimited
A dream collaboration in the making, this forthcoming single on Butterz delivers on all counts. It’s an inspired collaboration, with both producers existing at the funkiest edges of grime and Dubstep and the resulting tune splitting Swindle’s balls-to-the-wall energy and Silkie’s reserved in-the-pocket-funk.
