Sach O is really getting into the Footwork-Dubstep hybrid. And full on Footwork for that matter.

In an era where genre counts for little and hybridity is key, you’ve gotta make like Wu-Tang financial and diversify your bonds ‘nuh. Atlanta producer Distal knows this, coming with a sound that cleverly merges London production values, Chicago’s love of acid & Juke and his hometown’s love of booty-bass. The result are tunes that twitch and snap like the best ghetto house while retaining an undercurrent of dread – check out Angry Acid, Boss of the South or Apple Bottom. Throw in a flawless cosign from the eminent Tectonic records which will make his debut album their first release by an American producer and you’ve got more than enough reasons to start paying attention to this Fact Mix. Slowly building from proper techno to Juke to half-step and back, it’s a highly percussive set equally fit for kicking off a party as it is for a particularly hyperactive Sunday morning. As long as nobody starts calling this stuff “Footcrunk,” I’m down.
