No need to hype one’s own show. If you do it right, people talk, and re-tweets are about as far as I can stand for outward self-aggrandizement. Thankfully, the highly gifted Jon Casey (the filmmaker behind Quik Fest ’11) has captured footage of last Thursday’s funkfest at Freak City. All bands captured in the most lawless element. No footage was captured of me roaming with a fifth of Jack and a joint, but that is probably for the best. Like the ODB and Cars 2, Passion of the Weiss is for the children. And yes, that is Myka 9 helping Dam-Funk out with “Hood Pass Intact.” 2 0’Clock Follies.
