My day job and tonight’s Passion sponsored round-table on Montreal bass music prevent me from writing in detail, but in yet another random move, Wiley’s given away the instrumental version of his upcoming Ninja Tune album. Vacillating between Garage, MF DOOM meet Neptunes funk and Ragga digitalism, it’s yet more evidence that the man is one of the most innovative beatmakers to never break in the North-American market. Ah well: Ska, Trip-Hop and Afrobeat were pretty awesome too and those only broke as punk, mood music and Broadway respectively. Of interest to fans of the Donuts era, Dubstep DJs on the look out for something different and smokers of all sorts.
