Cue the sputtering histrionics about your favorite rapper being targeted. Somewhere in North Carolina, Phonte and Big Pooh are reenacting Cuban Linx skits. Were this song not well-executed, it would be worthless. However, the rapping and beat carry a trite concept. Lately, it feels like ’96 all over again — though these guys are could take satirical tips from the “What they Do” video. In the end, I guess I just miss angry rap music.
The knock at Boosie feels superfluous. They have obviously only heard the “Act a Donkey,” side of his catalogue.
