As the picture indicates, BEAK> move like a fixed gear bike: no brakes (to quote the Nocando). Geoff Barrow’s other band has propulsion for days and sounds like he’d decamped from Bristol to Stuttgart and decided to make funky autobahn grooves. “Yatton” refers to a city in rural England, so I will just have to assume that their roads are as lampless and bleak. This is 4 a.m. insomniac drive music, full of cruse control swing and distorted guitars. Far from Portishead, but only because they’re moving fast. But smooth enough so you’ll never spill your coffee.
