Son Raw: Seun Kuti and Falty DL get funky

Son Raw wants more Afrobeat in his bass music

And here’s a piece of music that falls squarely within this site’s scope of interest. The fear whenever a band as organic as The Africa 80 enter the electronic realm is that no computer could match the unhinged energy of the original rhythm section but thankfully Falty DL keeps things nice and funky with percussion rooted in the Afrobeat tradition but with a broken edge. When asked to remix a member of the Kuti clan, one doesn’t reinvent the wheel so much as give it new set of tires.
