The countdown to Kendrick Lamar’s debut Low End Theory appearance starts now. If paying for these two to make music together can’t make me want to purchase a Windows Phone, nothing will. Nothing will. Maybe this will make rap fans realize that Nosaj and Flying Lotus et. al are making more innovative hip-hop rooted production than this month’s clams du jour. Maybe not. At least Bill Gates agrees with me.

I mean, I love me some nosaj/flying lotus/brainfeeder affiliated sounds and LOVE kendrick lamar, but come on jeff, that’s not a dig on clammy clams is it? say it ain’t so! ‘natural’ has been in my brain like it’s paying rent…

I like Clams Casino. I don’t think he is a revolutionary hip-hop producer as some might allege. I don’t think rap bloggers listen to Holy Other or Nosaj or Lotus and hence, only compare Clams to like Statik Selektah. It’s selective comparison.

Yeah this is the closest thing to a rap blog I ever read, so, there you go. I had no idea he was so anointed. He mostly reminds me of Shlohmo, at least on his Rainforest EP. All those stretched out vocal samples

This is awesome. I talked to Kendrick a year ago and he hadn’t heard of Brainfeeder, glad to see he is making that connect w/ the best producers in his town!
