Even if you already have every DJ Quik record ever released, the new LA Leakers tape is worth the download just to hear David Blake break down his history, catalog, dissing Dre and Xzibit, and why you don’t really want a rebound girl. Beyond first ballot HOF status as a producer/rapper, his soliloquies are hotter. His new album, The Book of David, comes out (appropriately) on 4/20. He ought to write a book too.
