Time is scarce. There are planes to Austin to catch. But since KRIT is focused on all things temporal, it’s an appropriate subject matter. Last year, I wrote a post comparing Justin Scott to Black Milk and my point still stands. Both are working well within circumscribed traditions — less interested in innovation than expansion. Comparisons to his Country Rap predecessors are possibly unfair but certainly warranted. Admittedly, I’d like KRIT to sound a little less like TI or Pimp C, but his production and cadence are undeniable. Besides, the rapper/producer always gets slack. Nor is not easy to make music that rattles but rolls smoothly.

Not a big fan of this guy’s last tape, but these two new songs are ridiculously good. Looking forward to his new project.

A comparison cannot be ‘possibly unfair’ and ‘certainly warranted’ at the same time. It’s one or the other.

Particularly after viewing the latest Die Antwood video, i find this album cover shot of the hoochie mama sitting in the brandy snifter rather disturbing.
Toilet rap is changing the game, people.

The K.I.R.T logo looks like a side slice of a Reese’s peanut butter cup.
