Sach O doesn’t watch sports so he roots for the home team musically
I’ll start reviewing albums again when I start listening to them and I’ll get that Rinse-Guide up as soon as I finish it (sometime this year hopefully). Until then, here’s some Sunday Morning vibes from Montreal’s Bowly whose recent European tour culminated in a stop on Scratcha DVA’s Grimy Breakfast Show – probably the only radio program in history to offer both London Tube updates AND a Hyperdub DJ commenting on Beyonce’s skin tone. In addition to competing in UK Vs Canada trivia, the ESL DJ was invited to spin a few tunes, delivering an all-Montreal showcase featuring his own production plus beats by RLY Guilty, Hissy Fit, HGLDT and Skinny Bones. I’ve mentioned some of those names around these parts but listening to their work presented in 1 mix is probably the best way to understand why I’m so excited about the music that’s coming out of here.

Yeah, straight up – I’ve only listened to one or two of those MTL producers, but I’m curious to see what I’m missing (and they’re from my country, no less).
Good luck on that Rinse Guide, I’d never tackle something like that… but then, this why I don’t get paid for writing about music…
