I don’t know enough about the crack game to compare, but rap certainly reminds me of the pimp game in that it’s all about confidence. Theoretically, Rae shouldn’t be able to pull a track like this off but he knocks it out the park on momentum alone, tackling the bombastic beat with all the fire of the young Turk in the photo above. I’m not a fan of this hook on record at all, but I figure it’ll go over great live and that’s Rae’s bread and butter these days, plus Jim Jones actually comes through with that verse. His knowledge of rock music probably wouldn’t pass Douglas Martin muster though. All in all, no one will confuse with with Verbal Intercourse but it’s a fun record that’s actually fun, high energy bash your head rap with 3 knuckleheads doing what they do over 2011 New York Boom-Bap. Can’t beat that with a bat.
