As the photo above indicates, Jamie xx and Jason Chung share the same wardrobe designer. A garlic averse soul who sculpts their suits in a lampless cavern deep in the bowels beneath SoHo. Neither of them have tasted clean oxygen in weeks, which serves to explain the artistic synergy that the two possess. They share a love of the disorienting — that netherworld nebulousness that you can’t quite clearly locate. This illustrates why the Pasadena-based beatmaker remixed a song called “Islands,” and Jamie xx is returning the favor to a song called “Fog.” Anyone who has been to Pasadena is familiar with the feeling of isolation, particularly when strolling through the lonely crowds of Colorado Blvd on a weekend night. There is only so much security that dinner at the Cheesecake Factory can provide. Unless you order them strawberry lemonade and popcorn shrimp, but that’s a different story altogether.

Drift Remixed drops next Tuesday on Alpha Pup, with remixes from Teebs, Dorian Concept, and DJ Savile Row. –Weiss
