For those looking for a safer bet following Butler busting their brackets, I recommend taking the advice of Dam-Funk, who via Twitter rightfully praised Holloway’s excellent “Cool and Deadly” reggae mix. No tracklist available, but according to Holloway, “I’ve been collecting Jamaican 45s since the early 70s. This COOL & DEADLY mix mainly highlights music from the early 80s rub-a-dub era, after the conscious 70s Roots vibes and before digital dancehall. Hopeton “Scientist” Brown and Roots Radics ruled this period with vicious, taut riddims and Scientist’s other-worldly dub effects. Cool & Deadly features boom tunes at the beginning and more dubby excursions toward the end. Flash it!”

It also features Linval Thompson’s “I Love Marijuana,” just so you know what to do to enhance your listening experience.
