Sach already illustrated why Gilles Peterson is the unsung hero in the holy trinity of BBC1 Xtra DJ’s — Mary Anne Hobbs and Benji B constitute the other 2/3rds. Last night, Gilles recruited that aesthetically pleasing fellow from Radiohead to pontificate about climate change while using the word “bollocks.” HE IS SO DREAMY. Thankfully, his taste in music is on-point and the the pair drop a scorching two hour mix of Darkstar, Can, Jay Electronica, Dam-Funk, and Four Tet remixes of MF Doom. He also mentions his love of Madlib and Doom and mentions possible future collabos. There is no discussion of the miraculous Marian apparitions that occurred at Yorke’s recent solo show, which is disconcerting but unsurprising. Government conspiracies, y’know. After all, the BBC does take public funds.

I’m very excited for the MF Doom show in Toronto, billed as Doom “FEATURING” Mos Def. What could this mean? Is it going to be the standard mos doing his catalogue, then doom doing his? Will we hear a new collaboration? Or will the might Mos don the mask and try to pull of the old stunt double maneuver. Time will tell.
