Tray: I really don't want to turn this into a referendum on Gucci. I've pointedly stayed away from writing about him because I can appreciate parts of what he's doing and other parts of it, I'm not as crazy about. There are already plenty of people articulating very well why they find Gucci Mane so compelling. Not everyone has to be gung ho on everything Radric Davis does, and honestly, I don't have the time to sift through that much content. If you want to make the 12 best Gucci Mane songs of the year comp or something, by all means I'll listen. Otherwise, I'll wait till his album drops.

Thomas -- i know what you're saying but i think it's a little different. Wale's "sold out" as far as chasing trends like Gaga and Gucci with bad results, as opposed to the best rappers like Wayne, Jay, Andre, etc. who adapt naturally, but i typically don't think of the term unless we're talking someone like post-debut 50 Cent, Fergie BEP, that type of shit. know what you mean though

man tray you're a smart guy but why do you elaborately defend a rapper you don't even give that much of a shit about lol. i mean i kinda get it i guess but still, maybe fall back a little? probably the wrong place to try to convert people into ambivalent Gucci fans you know
