there’s something really upsetting about the whole mess with Dilla’s estate and his mother. the article and interview together are so depressing. it’s a bit like a drama where you get to see things from the different perspectives of the major players involved, with some hints at what their intentions might be, and that troubling sense that you’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg.

it goes to show that sometimes great music writing can simply be a great story (well-written, of course ). hopefully this doesn’t come across as flippant or disrespectful, (this story has real ramifications for real people) but it makes me want to hear about this from the perspective of Dilla’s baby mommas, like there should be a part 3 to this tragedy.
