I actually already do from a basketball standpoint. Ariza shot 41 percent from the three point line in last year’s playoffs. Artest shot in the low 20s. It was a dumb move, I’ve just decided to deal with it and appreciate his unhinged comic sensibilities.

Mental issues aside, and don’t laugh them off, the guy is not the player that he used to be. I wouldn’t go so far as to compare him to Ben Wallace (though I guess I’m implicitly doing so), but the defensive hustle player’s lifespan can be short. Offensively, of course, he’s more detriment than benefit. Lots of bad shots. Long-term, you’re going to wish you had Ariza. Next year, you may wish you had Ariza.
