Nas? Only for GOOD albums. Now, if you said classic the quantity would decrease. I think your crazy if you dont have love for: Illmatic, It Was Written, I am (mad underrated), The Lost Tapes, Stillmatic, Gods Son and debatably Untitled. All of these are "good" albums at the least imo. Ultimately, i love Ghost, but Nas is just a better all round emcee, regardless of his beat choice.

As for Jay...American Gangster was ill, derivative, yes but it was anything but an average/bad album. The Black Album was a classic as well for me.

Isn't this beat from Champion Sound with Madlib rhyming over it? Though its not that I'm complaining..

Just so we're clear, I've read and agreed with Nate's work. I enjoyed the Flying Lotus review from a while ago. I just didn't recognize the name...

Nate Patrin holds it down over there for sure. Joe Tangari's African reviews have pointed me in the direction of good music as well. And this is from a commited fork hater.

Fine, but that's subjective. You include him in your Top 10, so is it really so hyperbolic? I wouldn't object if someone said Pharoahe Monch is the greatest ever. There is no GREATEST EVER--there are many. Ghost is my pick.

And Pitchfork's past rap miscues aside, there are few if any better rap writers than Nate. Read his reviews over the last two years and tell me otherwise.

No offense intended, but writing for Pitchfork isn't a plus for most online heads. Ask around or write something about it.

I'm not questioning anyone's credentials, I'm just stating my opinion. Ghost is great and he's in my Top 10, but he's no Nas and the fact that YOU don't like recent Nas albums doesn't make them bad. Besides, you're subject to resort to hyperbole when discussing anything Ghost related. The first comment I made here years back was calling you out for comparing him to Led Zeppelin, based on Fishscale and More Fish. Let's not act as if Ghost gets no love.

"Chef’s not holding a pistol, he’s holding a stack of money in a pistol grip. Which is even better; he’s going to shoot you with money. Blaow."

My God, you're right. Well, I guess what this means is that I need to pay more attention to the Chef, as I tend to underestimate him on first glance.

"Nas hasn’t dropped a good album in nearly a decade and everyone but his most die-hard stans would be hard-pressed to tell you he has more than three good albums (four if you include Lost Tapes)."

C'mon, Jeff. You know that ain't true. He's got, at least, five good records. A

nd since all GOAT discussions inevitably turn into Jay-Z/Nas flame threads anyway....

You can easily say Jay-Z hasn't made a good record in nearly a decade, too.
