On paper, this should be catastrophic. A Mark Ronson remix of the side-project of Nikolai Fraiture, the Strokes bassist? I only downloaded it in the first place because Wale guest-raps, and dude’s rapidly edging his way into the ranks of artists I’m willing to get completist about. Inherent anti-Ronson bias aside,  this is a ideal Sunday music: a soothing synthesis of Jens Lekman-like vocals, warm litturgical organs, plangent Africa ‘70-type horns, and of course, Mr. Folarin. Although, I always thought, “Brandy of the Damned,” meant Moesha.
