Things That Make You Go Hmm: Lonely Island’s “I’m on A Boat”
Not sure about the logic of leaking this track sans video. Really, a shot-by-shot re-enactment of “Speedin,” with minor meddling to include an ursine Rick Ross doppelganger, swimming laps surrounded by mermaids, could elicit easy and instant laughs. Obviously, Lonely Island are no Party Fun Action Committee. But as 50 discovered, you can’t help but produce gems by mocking T-Pain, Khaled, and Officer Ricky (even without flashing photos of DJ Khaled w/ Anna Wintour bob.) Good for T-Pain for having a sense of humor. Still, even if this is a little premature, these guys cop a get-out-of-jail free card after “Jizz in my Pants.”
