Trying to relay the phenomenon of meeting Sam Jackson, I fell into the trap of comparing the actor with a role he played 15 years ago. Attribute it to the iconic nature of said performance, with Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction always overshadowing Jackson’s greatness in the Spike Lee joints, Jackie Brown, and Menace II Society. The details are in the Weekly link.
Also, be sure to scoop the songs from Afro Samurai’s Rza-helmed soundtrack. I’m sparing you the tracks with Prodigal Sunn and 60 Second Assassin–though it’s nice to see them gainfully employed during a time of economic distress.

Here’s the obligatory “long time reader, first time poster” intro. i’m really digging you cats. Even when you cover acts that don’t necessarily blow wind up my proverbial skirt, i have to say, you’re some of the most entertaining mp3 blogtastic writers i’ve come across (and i come across a lot of things; sorry, i had to go there).
Regardless, i am WAY pumped about this new Afro Samurai joint. Not only did i love the first movie, i thought the original soundtrack was money, too. Here’s hoping part 2 doesn’t disappoint.

Hey thanks CD, and don’t worry, you are exempted from using the word, “blogtastic.” The Internet makes every label sound awkward. I think you’ll like the second part of Afro, they gave me a DVD screener and I really liked what I saw.

So this Whar beat is the intro from Clan In Da Front with some late-RZA fluff tacked on. You know, I think it’s better that RZA reuse his shit from the days when he was the greatest producer alive than that he make more beats in the 8 Diagrams vein, but if he’s going to do that it’d be nice if he didn’t fuck them up. It’s a decent song though.
