[...] One of two Black Milk produced cuts to make this list, ‘Motown 25′ was the choice cut from one of the choice albums of the year. Both Elzhi and Royce spit venomous and impassioned fire, but in all honesty the beat is just so good that I wouldn’t care if it was Homer Simpson spittin’ over it. Now there’s a thought. Check my vaguely more eloquent write-up for this track over at The Passion.
With that mentioned, I would like to say that the list is pretty damn solid. My personal number one would probably be Ghostface - Computer Love. I would have also included Asher Roth's A Mili because I'm not sure if you guys remember but Wayne's A Milli cause a phenomenon and excitement with everyone doing their own versions that we haven't seen since the Takeover/Ether days. And of Asher's version was the best out of all 500 versions. Also I would have put broken language '08 much higher based on the fact that my neck still hurts from banging that on repeat back when it dropped in March or whenever. Another top 25 for me is "Cypher" by Wale, Young Chris, Freeway and Beanie Siegal. I say this one because the concept works, it actually makes you feel like you are right by the emcees as they are in the middle of a good ol' fashioned cypher and the beat bangs like Mariah Carey's hair circa '96. Oh yeah can't forget Fried Chicken. But congradulations on other great wrap up.

Ha that Jay-z and Santogold song is easily the most annoying song of '08. It's actually hard to decide which is more annoying, her verse or his Jamaican accent verse. It sounds like a hipster hannah montana of swagger like us. And yes, I believe it is okay to be a hater when it comes to Jay because he's often mentioned as one of the greatest.

Interesting list, can't say I agree with all of it, but what a boring world it would be if we all agreed. Even a few things I either skimmed over at first or totally Rip Van Wrinkled on so I got to check these out.

As far as the Premo debate, I love that fuckin' song, for me, it's one of the better Primo beats I've heard in awhile. But then again, a good friend of mine doesn't care for it, so it seems it's kinda hit or miss with people.
