		<description>This post brought back memories of my Technics 1200s back in the early 1990s.  For those of us who got started scratching on belt drive turntables, the direct drive 1200s were unbelievable, like a gift from the heavens.  It makes me feel warm and fuzzy just thinking about it now.</description>

		<description>good read.  Although I admittedly know very little about turntables, I always had the impression that the 1200 was still the bar by which all others are measured, and that Numark made cheap-o plasticy turntables.  the more you know.</description>
