I mean, just look objectively at what’s moving units these days. Everything’s very synthetic and uses autotune. Or features Rihanna. Or is a Beyonce song. I’m not even sure Hey Ya wouldn’t fizzle if it came out today. It’s a very good song, but this is the price of sounding like you came out 5 years ago. I mean, this shit is closer to 2000-2004 Outkast than Big Boi himself was back in ’06.

IT WASN’T IGNORANT ENOUGH. MAYBE IF THEY REMIXED IT AND COMPARED DIFFERENT TYPES OF GIRLS TO DIFFERENT BRANDS OF CHAMPAGNE, IT WOULD GET MAD PLAY YO. THESE MOUNTAIN CLIMBING HIPSTER RADIO PROGRAMMERS THESE DAYS, I TELL YA. (Actually, that theory would seem to be belied by the relative success of the Gym Class Heroes song ‘Cookie Jar,’ which does the same thing, but with cookies. It’s a decent song, but that’s just not where the sound is right now, sorry. 5 years ago it would be big.)

Good work. I was wholly impressed with their set in Phoenix, right down to their matching black leather jackets. They should have at least called each other before the show.
