Killarmy-”Wu-Renagades”
Killarmy > Better Than Your favorite rap group’s weed carriers.
Questions to Ponder:
1. Is Killa Sin the best of the Wu affiliate rappers? I’ll take him any day over both Street Life and Cappadonna, to say nothing of the rest of the JV. Maybe not Killah Priest. Plus, he gets bonus points for reportedly being involved in the breaking of Mase’s jaw.
2. If being nostalgic for the days when Rap City used to play shit like this is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Hmm… does Keith Murray count as an EPMD weedcarrier? On a more serious note, Big Noyd’s a super-respectable weedcarrier, and Mobb Deep is my favorite group.

Yeah, Noyd is good, though not as good as the Domino’s Pizza character. The Infamous Mobb were not.
I don’t think any of the Def or Hit Squad count in this poll. They actually had very legitimate careers and most weren’t dudes that Erick and Parrish came up with.

“If being nostalgic for the days when Rap City used to play shit like this is wrong, I don’t want to be right.”
Amen. It’s been a long time since I got down to Killarmy. As for Wu affiliates, I might have to ride with Shorty Shit Stain based purely on the audacity of that ridiculous name. He could have picked anything and he was like, “Nah, man I’m a be Shorty Shit Stain, son!”

“Frisco, liver than disco, pack a nickel plated pistol, and keep my block hot like burning Crisco!”
Killa Sin is the SHIT! He had Rae’s flow but was actually coherent with his lyrics. His voice was ill and he didn’t cram 934 words per bar like everyone else in Killarmy, even though that WAS the style 10 years ago. Last time I heard dude was on the “Gunz N Razors” joint on “More Fish”. His MySpace page is pretty despressing. Let’s start an online campaign to get him more apperances! Why should Shawn Wigs get more burn than Killa Sin?

Oh and the beat for “Wu-Renegades” and “The Shootout” from their 2nd album “Dirty Weaponry” are among the best Wu-related beats ever, RZA/Tru Master/Mathematics included.

Shouldn’t Cappadonna get a pass strictly for his verse on Winter Warz?

Killa Sin is third dopest behind Streetlife and Cappadonna. Burning Season is a classic track.
I still prefer Sunz of Man to Killarmy though. Last Shall be First is basically amazing.

and Ice Water. maybe that’s just me though.

I think Cappadonna turned in his pass when he did his verse for “Buck 50.”
Also, I think Killarmy roughly = Monster Island Czars, with the tie going to Killarmy for appearing both on the Larry Sanders Show and Upright Citizens Brigade.

Abso-frickin-lutely. That might be a top 10 Wu-related verse.

It’s baffling how fast Cappadonna became a punchline. I really like The Pillage but no one ever fell off faster.

Totally. Play his verses on “Iron Maiden” and “Wu Banga 101″ back-to-back, and it’s startling. Almost hard to believe it’s the same guy.
I always thought of Sunz of Man as the definitive affiliate group, but perhaps I’m alone on that one.

I don’t know, I feel like Cappa was always teetering on the edge of being really bad, even when he was really good. If that makes any sense.

One Wu weed carrier that was really fucking dope that people always forget is Shyheim The Rugged Child.
Shyheim’s first album was really great and he wrote it when he was thirteen! Thirteen!

Killah Sin is, really, one of the greatest wu affiliate (like you, I’m not putting Priest very far behind). But the thing is, every killah sin verse makes you realize he’s even one of the greatest emcees ever! Listen to his verse on “Bronzeman” on bronze nazareth’s the great migration album; matter of fact, listen to any of his verses (La the darkman album, etc), and you’ll realize how gifted he is at this. Talking about Pacewon getting desperately older and older, I think the greatest loss for hip hop is killah sin never getting any shine.
I was a big wu stan in my teenage years, and now that I’m quite past that, I still can’t lose my admiration for the skills of killah sin - at this mature age when I finally stop buying any wu affiliate album coming out, even learning about wu members releases at the same time as everybody else.
