Like take a Lupe. A talented writer with about three-four good beats in the two albums he's made so far, this insufferably preachy attitude, smarter-than-thou personality, a ton of space shit that don't even make any sense, and so on. Or Nas, who's still very good line for line but doesn't have a clue what he's trying to say anymore. Or all these unkut.com types who are trying to bring '94 back. Now this guy, happily, doesn't really fall into any of those categories, but he's not blowing you away with anything he does either. I'll look up his mixtape though - I am from Philly so I'd be very happy if he turned out to be good. I'm not sure that flows have progressed too far past the highlights on Blueprint 2. I guess Wayne's flow is a novelty, though it's often attributed to Jay, and Ross and Jeezy, however much you may hate them, and however derivative they are of Master P, are bringing something to the table that wasn't out there six years ago. The main difference between then and now, perhaps, is that rappers have had time to assimilate Jay's flow, whereas back then he was pretty sui generis. Anyway, this guy sounds like someone on the back end of a really old Kayslay tape. Though he's not without charm. Well that’s a good question.
