I like a limited amount of Stones Throw stuff in addition to the Stone Age. Well, mostly just Madlib instrumental records.

From what I gathered, it was more that it's an animated virtual band.

It's nice to see that we can agree on something West Coast-related Tray. Maybe I should just stick to posting on Stone Age West Coast rap. Rodney O and Joe Cooley up next.

That was nice my man. I remember listening to AP and "She's Got a Big Posse" in the day. There were some serious beats on there, some very grimey. That took from the old to the new. Cheers.

I'm glad Arabian Prince isn't real bitter like many old school cats tend to be. I organized a panel with a couple dudes from Wreckin Cru once and they seemed way bitter about electro-rap being overtaken by gangsta rap.

This is a great article/interview. That's pretty hilarious about the 2 second sampling time and kinda crazy that it defined the music so much, with the orchestra hits.

Stones Throw is running this rap shhh

Trey: You're just happy that he said he loved Lil Wayne. Admit it. But yeah, he's right in general. Though Akon and T-Pain can get moving on their inevitable path to becoming VH1 Soundbites on Remember the 00s.

Brandon: Thanks. I talked to Egyptian Lover for the piece and told him basically just that. He said, they'll be doing re-issues later in the year and hopefully I'll be doing something on him when they come out.

Woah, great article. More of us rap fans need to go out and actually find these old dudes and talk to them. Let's hope an Egyptian Lover compilation isn't far behind...

dude's completely on-point about rap right now. not that i mind rappers working with the same sound as others, just that it'd be nice if they, you know, actually put their own spin on it.

and to be honest, much as i hated Akon's '06 run of hits T-Pain's making me kinda miss the guy
