I don’t know if there’s ever a bad time to listen to Fela. “Expensive Shit” and “Roforofo Fight” got me through a rough, long morning at the DMV.

I also suggest you get your hands on Seun Kuti’s stuff if you can. I saw him live in Central Park two weeks ago, and his performance was easily the highlight, even outshining Afrika Bambaataa’s.
