12 Oz. Bottles of Beck’s Had Me Drunk, One Night Laid Up With the Ol’ Dirt and 10 Bags of Skunk
Partially inspired by Skeet on Mischa’s decision to post “My Lovin’ Is Digi,” partially because Tal Rosenberg tells me that against all odds, Digi Snax is really good, I have decided that my song for the weekend is officially “Kiss of a Black Widow.” Consequently, I have decided to share it with y’all, as well as the song that the Rza samples, Portishead’s “Over.” For the record, as great as this song is, my favorite part comes at the beginning, when right after the ODB maniacally complains that “them ho’s belong to us,” the Rza instructs him to cut his hair. This makes no sense and yet it does.
MP3: Rza ft. Ol’ Dirty Bastard-”Kiss of a Black Widow.”
MP3: Portishead-”Over”
Stumble It!

I don’t know this is alright, but honestly it’s kind of lazy, RZA is capable of much better production, thanks for posting it though.

i’ve always felt that portishead sort of owed a pretty sizable debt to RZA [there are some moments on dummy where RZA himself is out-RZA’ed], so i think it’s a cute little hat-tip that he sampled them. the ODB moment is priceless; i think wu-tang, in addition to all of the things that they’ve contributed to rap, are the masters of nonsensical and unintentional humor. remember when the beat skipped at the beginning of “the projects” and rae goes, “the FUCK?” my cousin and i laughed out loud when we first heard it, and kept rewinding it so we could hear that part.
TRIVIA: “the projects” is also where 5 o’clock shadowboxers got their name.
p.s. tell your boy tal rosenberg i think he’s a genius.

Really looking forward to this. 8 Diagrams was a perfect winter album; Bobby Digitech can soundtrack the summer while I dip my tongue in some sin.

i think bob digi says “comb your hair,” not “cut your hair.”

You may be right but I would prefer to interpret it as cut. It’s funnier that way.
