No LCD Soundsystem?? I'm pretty sure the only person who actually liked Strawberry Jam was me, though. Even Pitchfork went back to rocking Person Pitch after their little 9.3 surprised no one.

i like to imagine that in the mythical second season of "My So-Called Life" that Brian Krakow date-raped Angela Chase and got Rayanne preggers before skipping town on an MIT scholarship.

Relax? Like Frankie said, I don't do it. Must antagonize the antagonist! We all need a hypocrite to point out the hypocrisy of others. I think I'm just bored and bummed that the only band I can get excited about anymore is a bunch of old-ass Brits singing about vikings and shit. I mean, I wish I could get jazzed about a bunch of moaning bores like the National, but I was born without the "indie" (i.e. wuss) gene. Huzzah!

Jordan Catalano, first of all stop acting like Brian Krakow.

Second of all, relax. I like the MIA songs I mentioned. Why? Because obviously I like The Clash and New Order (or did you not notice the Joe Strummer picture in the banner). Did I find her album as good as those tracks? Not really. Although "Jimmy" is kind of the jam.

That's why the post is called "overhyped." I didn't think it was as good as everyone made it out to be. Taste is subjective. Deal.

PS: just because M.I.A. samples the Clash and New Order she's lame? Um, hello? Anyone with the smarts to sample "Straight to Hell" for a track should be lauded. Oh wait, it was! I forgot--you're playing the villain in this one. And the last one. And the one before that. Someone's getting predictable!

The greatest hipster crime is acting like you're above the very hipsterness you wallow in. The only difference between M.I.A. and Broken West (other than she's awesome and they're who again?) is that one got hyped to death while the other was ignored. I mean, playing the contrarian is fun, but it's also...overrated!

Sucka!
