i have also been singing the praises of caltroit. BM hipped me to bishop, but that doesnt even matter because he's a sick emcee. who would have thought he would emerge from aftermath? it's funny that 50 called koch a graveyard when they have consistently been putting out music by artists from all over the map, yet isn't aftermath the real graveyard? rakim; truth hurts; joell (as of now); countless producers; hitman. i am missing tons... need i go on?

Caltroit was a fuckin' awesome tape. A few tracks have leaked off the Reformation (Lamont's Aftermath debut) and they're pretty great too.
I've got big hopes for this cat.

as far as the 'pac thing, i think he was more of an icon than a rapper, and that's probably gotten in the way of his credentials as a rapper. rappers are just rappers, nowadays, 'pac PERSONA was what made him, because it truly was larger than life.

finally, a [mainstream-ish] west coast rapper that'll be able to keep up with the lyrical beasts on the east coast and midwest. the capital punishment-era pun comparison is spot-on, and that's SCARY.

I've got N--R Noize. Haven't listened to it much right now, nothing is getting in my way of 8 Diagrams and Big Dough Rehab, with a little Burial thrown in the mix. I'll definitely get to it though.

I've had N*gger Noize for a year, but I never got around to listening to it, even though Caltroit was nice. Thanks for the heads up.

Jeff:

Try to download Bishop Lamont's mixtape "N*gger Noize" which came out last year after the Michael Richards (lupe) fiasco. The beats were mean as shit and was pretty decent on most of the mixtape. He sounds better when he's rhyming with other cats like the jawn you posted with Phat Kat. The other joint he kills on CALTROIT is the one with Royce 5'9''. He sounds hungrier when he's forced to bring it with fellow microphone masters.
