blog was so-so, i didn't agree with anything you said about dude really, his voice, ok, but his so called "rip offs" of anime, what do you want? really? he makes songs about more than just anime dude, the references to them are actually nice, not only they are new but refreshing to know that there are MC's out there that have ummm what is it? "Creativity" there we go (but i agree with you about pro, he is a douche kinda but he can produce, i give him props for that)

i dunno. i got around to getting the album this year, and i can't really like much of it outside of "I Gotcha." with rappers like Kanye and to a lesser extent Common, i feel like while they're on some "conscious rap" sheez, they put enough of their personality into it to make it interesting. Lupe on the other hand kinda confirms some of the negative bias i have against that type of rap as not really that fun to listen to -- when i listen to some of his stories, it almost sounds like "OK, so i gotta do this, this, and..." he's not someone i'd call the most technically skilled dude in the world either, although i think he really meshes well with the "I Gotcha" beat.

plus i think most of the beats are kinda narcoleptic. Just Blaze-lite like ya mentioned, Just Blaze without the punch.

Hey Zilla! Tomorrow I will post up a response to this very blog and post a link to it as I myself have a love/hate relationship with Lupe Fiasco, but mine's goes back a little further.

Look for it tomorrow afternoon.

<i>"It would be cool if he did a De La Soul is Dead theme..."</i>

Heaven forbid someone else doing that, as it didn't do jack for me.

yo.

As far as rappers interacting daily with their public, save it up, distill it and flip it on the album. That's what its there for, ya know?

But, steppin your Blog game up seriously on this one! The shit about Pharell with the italian band-aids had me restraining and out-loud chuckle. But that's actually a really good idea, designer band-aids.

hmmmm...
