I dunno, dude. I generally like your lists but some of these picks feel too contrarian. “I Was A Lover” better than “Wolf Life Me”? “Cha Cha Cha” better than “Lovers Who Uncover”? “Let’s Call If Off” better than “Young Folks”? “Joker And the Thief” better than “Dimension”, “Woman”, and “White Unicorn”? I could go on here but my respect for the Monkey Swallows the Universe pick inspires me to leave my protests at four.

The Drive By Truckers fill that bill and should be the top album lists–why they arent listed mystifies me as they are one of, if not, the best rock band in America

Hey thanks for the mention, I agree Wolf Parade in 2007 will be special. I’m glad you put Cha Cha Cha on there, that song is so damn infectious. Very nice list, although Wolfmother still ain’t doing it for me.

I co-sign Franz Ferdinand as one of the best working bands today. I was hating them initially when “Take Me Out” was spoonfed to me along with “Float” from Modest Mouse a couple years ago. But after I heard “40 Feet” from that album, I quickly repented and have listened to the band very closely. Great selection.
