I was on a bill with Edan in Sept. 05, he was completely rediculous. He and insight clearly rehearsed the fuck out of their show, and it made a big difference. All between-song banter was practiced and programmed, which sounds irritating but it's substantially better than "turn my monitor up, can i get more treble in the dj monitor, how come ya'll and makin no noise?"

either way, it was ill, but he is a weird dude.

p.s. many of the photos in this post stand as a testiment to how terrible white people looked in 2006

Unfortunately, I didn't anon. I was supposed to go out of town when they came to the Greek, and I didn't end up going, but before I could buy tickets they were already long since sold out. Next year for sure though.

Didn't you get to see Radiohead?? I can't imagine any other reason why they wouldn't be in your top ten.

I saw them in NYC, where the Black Keys opened. I agree, fabulous band.

I was debating putting them in one of the last two spots, because they were obviously pretty outstanding then...but I never reviewed it so that was the tie-breaker. But they're definitely an honorable mention.

I was at the January Wolf Parade show and I think that's one of the few reasons why I haven't been to another show this year. Wolf Parade are so great live.

No love for Islands at the El Rey on Cinco de Mayo?

Yeah, I mean it was tough to pick two bands better than them...but hold steady y could've just as easily been #1...they're as good as anyone Ive ever seen, though you should see MMJ live, you'd really enjoy it.

1.) Wait until you see Neil play with Crazy Horse. "Powderfinger" turns into this overwhelming sort of tidal wave, and his albums never sound quite the same.
2.) I cannot believe that you saw two shows better than The Hold Steady's. I'm not calling you a liar, it's just that I don't believe you.

"My Morning Jacket are the best live band in the world." This is not an opinion, i think it is an undeniable fact. MMJ are earth shattering live.
A new Wolf Parade would be want everyone wants, does Spencer ever rest?
