man, know i'm late to this, but GREAT post. we went to see the WU at webster hall in NYC last weekend. i and my friends were incredibly skeptical. and they made us wait a bit, during which time ed lover came out and just ranted about how the wu came up to him in like 92 at a show out on long island with a tape in hand, etc. etc. yo mtv raps, whatever. anyways, the show was incredibly charged as a.) the whole crew showed up b.)they ran through only the best stuff including a couple liquid swords tracks and some only built for also c.)even redman came out and seemed really in to it as he and meth did a whole bunch of crowd diving. and when meth called out, "do ya'll want another wu tang record?" i said yeah and really meant it, cause it seems like they've all gotten real focused again. also, i'm loving pass the bone off made in BK. anyways, the wu is back, finally, like a comet.

Meth seems to walk that tightrope in the game- he's in a Right Guard commercial, then drops hot verses on "underground" joints. He clowns around with Redman, then gets after Wendy Williams for her act. He releases a subpar CD, takes and accepts the heat for it, and now gives us what we've basically been waiting for since the original Tical, a hot release

Damn no WU love from any of your readers so far?

I must say that being a WU diehard fan is like following a wildly inconsistent sports team.

Sometimes your team goes on a 3 year run where they're going deep in the playoffs and may even get a ring. Then they "rebuild" and scrap everything, sucking for 2-3 years. Then they get good again and suck you back again. It's like the Florida Marlins, except they have no fans (even though they have 2 championships in their 13 year existence. My hometown Phillies: 1 ring in 125 years of existence).
