Hey, I was at that show, too - and it was truly phenomenal. Very different from a White Stripes show (which can get even *more* intense!), but thrilling as hell. So terrific that I went back in July to catch the Raconteurs at the Wiltern theatre here in LA. By that time, Jack had added a stunning cover version of "Bang Bang" to the set list. (Along with "Blue Veins" and "Broken Boy Soldier" that was the highlight of the night.)

You made some good points about the anointed rock critics getting sniffy, too. Gods forbid they should recognize Jack's white-hot talent *after* he's so famous; then what would there be to validate their uber-cool, and separate them from us common riff-raff?

But - uh, did your review get cut off at the bottom, or something?

It looked like you were about to say something about the other band members. (Brendan Benson, Patrick Keeler, and Jack Lawrence - all excellent musicians in their own right, and drummer Keeler pounds away with a fever that makes him almost as mesmerizing to watch as Jack White.) But the review just ended sort of abruptly there, no punctuation or anything. I mean, weird is good; but that's a bit avant-garde much, innit?

C'mon, tell us the rest of it.
