I'm with you on OK Computer 100%. I don't know what it is. It's unquestionably a great album, but that and Kid A, I never ever listen to. I do listen to the bends and amnesiac every now and then but for some reason the other two never get any play in my stereo. I think its because its tough to find the right mood to play them in. Honestly, other than taking a long drive to the middle of nowhere, I can't think of the right time to play those records. I like them don't get me wrong, but honestly, they just aren't much fun to listen to (though I think we're two of the few people who think this way at times)
You're right about Ringo, he gets too little love. Best sense of humor in the Beatles, by far in my mind. and as for his drumming, I once had a convo with a man who'd worked with Ringo in the studio. Said he had the best timing of any drummer he'd ever worked with. Like a clock he said. and he'd worked with all the big ones including Keith Moon.

1. Ringo was maybe the finest straight-ahead drummer rock has produced. When asked who his favourite drummer was, Keith Moon (The Who's unbelievable pounding master) said Ringo. As did my older brother, who is the musical genius I have looked up to since I was five, some forty-mumble-mumble years ago. The man could play those things. Props, please.
2. I'm glad to hear someone else talk that way about great albums we don't listen to; it's just not talked about enough. I may or may not agree with you about your choice (nor will you necessarily agree with the first one that comes to my mind: OK Computer), but it's an idea who's time has come and come and come again, like a nineteen-year-old college stud with a thirty-five-year-old divorcee.
3. Damn! There's a CD of Bob Marley hiccuping? I want that!

Wow, that story was amazing. I honestly don't think you could find three more contempible musicians working in a group ever. "I'm like Bob Marley, no one's gonna know what I'm doing until I'm done."
Is he insane? Ecleftic is probably the worst album I own. I'm no Bob Marley obsessive but I'd take listening to a tape of Bob Marley hiccuping than hear "ecleftic" again.

J, you're at the top of your form with this one.

But ... I must again come to the defense of K-West. And Lauryn .. dude, Miseducation was/is a hot album, come on now. "To Zion" is one of my favorite songs of all time. "That Thing" still has some appeal.

I agree though, Pras is no hero. He's a zero. But I don't think we're going to see him on a VH-1 reality show anytime soon, he's making a living off royalties from "The Score" to this day.

Holla. LOL.

In this case, Pras was hoping to hear the phrase "You got served". It would have made his starving as quite happy.

Except "I See A Darkness" is fucking incredible...and the only Bonnie Prince Billy album I can tolerate as a whole. Stupid "beard as proxy for depth" paradigm. And a shiny penny for anyone who can find me an R&B joint on a Missy album that's even remotely tolerable.
